Hull City facing extinction

The collapse of two rescue deals has left Hull facing extinction, according to one of the Third Division club's managers.

Assistant manager Kevan Smith fears for his job if chairman Nick Buchanan fails to stave off a winding-up order or to find the money to pay off City's crippling debts.

Smith believes he could be shown the Boothferry Park exit door along with fellow assistant Dave Moore and team boss Brian Little.

The club faces a High Court winding-up order next Wednesday as Customs and Excise and the Inland Revenue press for the payment of up to £500,000.

Other outstanding debts could amount to as much as £1.5m. The players and management team are also owed salary payments.
