Waterford United are confident that the short term financial situation of the club will be secured following a well-attended open meeting held at the Woodlands Hotel in the city last night.

The Blues called the meeting after the decision of their chairman John O’Sullivan to step down after a decade as chairman of the club.

The club have a shortfall of close to €90,000 in order to retain their place in the SSE Airtricity League but plans are in place to raise this money.
