Liam Brady: This is the biggest north London derby ever
Speaking in Cork’s Everyman Theatre last night, the Irish Examiner columnist looked to football history to place the clash of the Premier League title challengers in its proper context.
“I can faintly remember when Tottenham won the title in the early 60s but Arsenal were nowhere to be seen then,” he said. “And then, later, when Arsenal were the only London club to compete with the dominance of Alex Ferguson’s Man United, Spurs were never in it. So this is the biggest north London derby that we’ve ever had, I think.”
