Where are the likely FA Cup shocks?

Here are five teams who are looking to upset the big boys this weekend.

SHREWSBURY (home to Manchester United)

The lowest-ranked side left in the competition could deliver a hammer blow to Louis Van Gaal with a win over United on Monday. Micky Mellon’s Sky Bet League One team play decent football and gave Chelsea a scare before losing 2-1 in the League Cup last season. Andy Mangan has four goals since returning to the club in January and could be Town’s hero.

HULL (away to Arsenal)

A repeat of the 2014 final which Arsenal won 3-2 after being 2-0 down and the Tigers were also knocked out at the Emirates in last year’s third round. Steve Bruce’s side have not beaten the Gunners since 2008 but they are top of the Sky Bet Championship by two points and have 17-goal Abel Hernandez.

READING (home to West Brom)

Tony Pulis takes the FA Cup seriously and will pick a strong West Brom squad, given he has little room for manoeuvre with injuries, but they had to rely on penalties to beat Peterborough in the last round.

Reading will fancy their chances with former Baggies loanee Matej Vydra scoring six goals in three Cup games and returning from a hamstring injury.

BLACKBURN (home to West Ham)

Paul Lambert’s Rovers are searching for consistency after three wins in 12 games, including a 3-0 win over Oxford in the last round. Blackburn are 18th in the Sky Bet Championship with Elliott Bennett finding form after joining from Norwich. The Hammers should still be too strong but can the cup work its magic?

LEEDS (away to Watford)

Leeds boss Steve Evans has admitted a United victory would be a huge upset. Their chances do look slim against a Hornets side performing well in the Barclays Premier League. Leeds have struggled for goals this season and must hope strikers Mirco Antenucci and Souleymane Doukara can find one from somewhere to give the Championship side a shot at an upset.
