VIDEO: Lionel Messi return adds to Real Madrid's woes

The build-up to today’s ‘La Liga’ Clasico has featured international terrorism, dressing-room crises, blockbuster movie premieres and sex-tape blackmails, but the biggest sporting story has been the fitness of Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.

Messi has not played since injuring a ligament in his left knee in late September, however he looks set to feature this evening at Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

“Leo is back training with the squad, which is positive, great news for us,” Barca coach Luis Enrique said yesterday. “We know he’s not going to be 100% fit, coming back from injury, it depends how he feels. I would prefer him to play of course. I’ll speak to him today, tomorrow and before kick-off when these things are decided.”
