And he reckons it will be the Gunners’ improved ability to keep out goals as much as scoring them which will finally see Arsene Wenger ruling the domestic roost for the first time since 2004.
“I just look at the signing of Petr Cech and think what a difference that makes to Arsenal,” says the ex-pro turned TV pundit.
“If you watch Arsenal over the last three, four, five seasons, they concede goals and you see the players looking at the ground. Nobody is taking responsibility, nobody is wagging the finger, having a pop at them.
“First thing Arsene Wenger said on Sunday about Petr Cech is he wants clean sheets and he’s demanding from his back four. They’ve got somebody who is going to be at them all the time. It’s not acceptable to concede a goal and just walk to halfway.
“So that will make a massive difference. I think that is because I look at their squad and see where the goals are - Theo Walcott coming back (and) Alexis Sanchez for me is the new Suarez, a player who has got perpetual motion and ability and all that type of stuff. I would say this is Arsene Wenger’s best chance for a long time.”
So could letting Cech go to one of Chelsea’s main title rivals potentially be Jose Mourinho’s biggest error at Stamford Bridge?
“I don’t think it’s his biggest error because he believes he’s got a better keeper in Courtois. (But) you’re surprised he allowed it. Maybe, I don’t know, Jose is a good man, if he thinks a lot of Petr Cech and Cech was able to go to him and say I’m going, knowing Jose as I do, maybe he would have allowed that.
“(But) I don’t think Sir Alex would have allowed that - they would have go to abroad and then come back.”
For Kamara’s Sky Sports colleague Niall Quinn, it’s difficult to see past the defending champions.
“Chelsea will be hard to knock off their throne,” he says. “I know it’s hard to win back to back but - unless some of their players start to lose form - they turned into a machine last year.“The others will be coming at them.
“City have spent and Pellegrini’s under pressure to deliver this year as much as anyone. Arsenal will be strong defensively and (Cech) brings a winning mentality into the dressing room that perhaps they lacked as well so.
“You never thought you’d see the day Man United would spend the way they have spent. It’s got to work for them and it’s worked everywhere Van Gaal has gone. Overall, it will be tighter than last year.”
