Keane’s ‘no’ to Cork footballers

Roy Keane has revealed that he declined an invitation to address the Cork senior football squad last year. 

Back in 2006, the Leesider spent time chatting to the Cork hurling squad midway through their quest for a third All-Ireland Championship title on the spin. Many players branded the interaction with Keane as “inspirational”.

However, when their football counterparts laid out the welcome mat during the 2014 Championship, the 43-year-old was of a different mindset.
