Yet despite that run, United manager Louis van Gaal has come in for criticism in recent weeks. Sam Allardyce branded Van Gaal’s team ā€œlong-ball Unitedā€, Paul Scholes said his former club had often played ā€œmiserableā€ football this season and fans at Old Trafford recently whistled at their own team.
