Louis van Gaal yesterday attempted to shoot down Sam Allardyce’s “long-ball United” jibes by producing a dossier of evidence against the West Ham manager.

Allardyce came up with the moniker for Van Gaal’s team on Sunday after Manchester United scraped a 1-1 draw at Upton Park following Daley Blind’s 92nd-minute equaliser.
