Angry Petit blasts Henry’s French critics as ‘cowardly and hypocritical’

Emmanuel Petit has condemned apathy in France towards Thierry Henry and the manner in which he was vilified after his handball in the 2010 World Cup play-off against Ireland.

A former team-mate of Henry at Monaco, Arsenal and in the France national team, Petit also controversially claimed that France would be better under German rule.

Henry is leaving the New York Red Bulls and may have played his final match, with the 37-year-old yet to open up about his future plans.
