Kavanagh rejoins Saints as Leeside exodus continues

Kavanagh’s registration was yesterday being processed in a bid to be available for selection for league leaders’ Pats’ home game against Drogheda United at Richmond Park tonight. Meanwhile, travelling in the opposite direction is goalkeeper David Ryan, who has signed for Cork City from Pats, having previously spent several seasons at Limerick. Confirming striker Kavanagh had left Cork after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, manager Tommy Dunne said: “Obviously, things are tight from a budget point of view, so we have made a couple of changes over the past couple of days. We brought Ciarán (Kilduff) in at the start of the window and he has done extremely well for us. Danny Morrissey had been playing well until his hamstring injury, and he is also back to full fitness now. We also have Stephen Kenny and Rob Lehane, who have been doing well in training, so we do have options up front.”
Nevertheless, Dunne went on to say he is looking to add another attacking option to the squad, commenting: “I have spoken to a couple of strikers in the last 24 hours. We might have one or two coming in to play in the West Brom game (on Tuesday), but we will have to wait and see how that develops. We will keep working on it as we need to try and get another forward player in if we can.”
