Wenger wants the maximum from his Gunners
With neither Chelsea or Spurs in Premier League action this weekend, the Gunners will move up into third place should they beat out-of-form Norwich at the Emirates Stadium today (3pm).
Were Arsenal to win all of their three matches before Tottenham next play, they would hold a formidableseven-point lead on their north-London rivals.
Wenger, though, is staying grounded.
“We just focus on our next game and try to win it,” said Wenger, who could haveEngland duo Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott back today but will make a late decision on Tomas Rosicky who has a hamstring problem.
“We have to consider that Spurs can win their games and the only way to deal with it is to win the games.”
Centre-back Per Mertesacker must serve a one-match suspension after his red card at West Brom, so captain Thomas Vermaelen is set to return to the defence.
Wenger has been impressed by the Belgian’s attitude since being benched after the defeat at Tottenham.
“Thomas fights to find his place back, so he gains even more respect, sometimesyou gain more respect when you don’t play than whenyou play. His attitude has been absolutely marvellous.”
