Joey a joke in English, Scouse and Bartonese
Yesterday Joey Barton took over the accolade. The QPR midfielder ended his 12-game suspension at the weekend following his final day red card at Manchester City to make his Olympique Marseille debut in their 1-0 win over Lille.
However, at the press conference after the game he spoke English to the media in a distinctly French accent, even throwing a few Gallic shrugs of indifference during his monologue.
“I am very dangerous because I have a good pass from distance as I ave shown before. I can play in a deep position and it’s a big problem for teams in France.”
Yesterday as the clip became public on Twitter he retorted: “In my defence, it is very difficult to do a press conference in Scouse for a room full of French journalists.
“The alternative is to speak like a ‘Allo Allo!’ character. Its simply a case of you had to be there. #youstupidwomen!”
Piers Morgan tweeted: “Whoa....this is HYSTERICAL...It’s Hercule Pitbull! What ARE you doing?”
Barton replied: “I am christening this new language Bartonese. Steeeeevvvveeee would be proud!”
