Packie Bonner says he’d love to see Jim McGuinness take up the challenge of a job in soccer and believes his fellow Donegal man would be “up to the challenge”.

McGuinness recently revealed he visited Glasgow Celtic’s training grounds but denied he had received any offers to join the staff. McGuinness was also linked with a possible move to Liverpool. But if any offers arose, McGuinness said he would consider it.

Former Celtic and Ireland legend Bonner, who knows McGuinness, declined to say whether he was aware of any behind the scenes moves at Celtic Park to acquire the Donegal manager.
