Rodgers rues ‘lazy’ Reds slip-up

Three second-half goals sent Liverpool spinning to defeat in last night’s Europa League Group A match at Anfield. Rodgers’ team led when Jonjo Shelvey headed them into a first-half lead from Stewart Downing’s cross.

However, Antonio Di Natale levelled the scores early in the second half and a Sebastian Coates own goal and Giovanni Pasquale effort made it 3-1. Substitute Luis Suarez raised hopes of a snatched draw with a superb free-kick but there was no equaliser in the closing stages.
