The good news for Ireland is that the veteran winger is still determined to play international football despite having hinted at retirement after he captained the side against Italy at Euro 2012 on the occasion of his 100th cap.

“At the minute I’m still an Ireland player,” Duff said while visiting Irish troops in Lebanon. “I never brought it up that I was thinking about retirement. I’ve spoken to Giovanni [Trapattoni] and Marco [Tardelli] and at the moment, I’m still available.
