Rami hits late winner as France fight back

Iceland shocked Les Bleus by taking a two-goal lead through Birkir Bjarnason and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.

However, Laurent Blanc’s side reduced the arrears through Mathieu Debuchy seven minutes after the break but they had to wait until the 85th minute to equalise through Franck Ribery before Rami’s late strike won it.

Elsewhere yesterday Chris Coleman suffered defeat in his first match in charge of Wales as Aldo De Nigris’ double gave Mexico a 2-0 victory in New York.

Scotland crashed to a 5-1 defeat to the United States with Landon Donovan helping himself to a hat-trick and Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones grabbing a goal apiece. An own goal from Geoff Cameron was little consolation for the Scots.

On Saturday night Ashley Young got the winner as England beat Norway 1-0. The night’s surprise result saw Germany crash to 5-3 defeat to Switzerland.
