Fermoy edge Carrig to secure MSL promotion

Fermoy will be playing Premier Division football next season after defeating Carrigaline United 1-0 in the Munster Senior League First Division play-off decider at Carrig Park yesterday.

Fermoy edge Carrig to secure MSL promotion

With Fermoy, Carrigaline and Bandon all finishing level on 38 points, the second promotion spot was decided on a three-way play-off. And Graham Byrne was the hero as his strike on the stroke of half-time clinched Fermoy promotion, following up last week’s victory over Bandon, to win their two play-off games.
