Bray pile on Galway agony
Last night’s record 22nd consecutive league defeat means United have gone through the regular season without registering a single home win, while they also become the first club to concede 100 goals or more in the league’s 89-year history.
They actually started relatively well last night, and both Oscar Sibanda and Darragh Duggan had chances to fire them into the lead, but neither player could hit the target from close range.
Bray’s Jake Kelly hit the crossbar on 15 minutes before opening the scoring in the 38th minute, firing under Conor Winn after being played in by Colm Tresson.
That proved to be the first of four goals the visitors would score in a seven-minute spell up to half time, with Conor Murphy, Tresson and Kieran Waters adding the others.
The visitors weren’t done, however, as Graham Kelly and substitute Shane O’Neill piled on the misery in the second half.
