Bruce: I let Reid go after crowd turned sour

STEVE BRUCE last night revealed he lost his faith in Andy Reid after the Sunderland crowd turned against the player.

Blackpool boss Ian Hollway last night signed midfielder Reid from Barclays Premier League rivals Sunderland until the end of the season for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international — who infamously fell out of favour with Giovanni Trapattoni — made 70 appearances for the Black Cats since his £4 million switch from Charlton in January 2008.
