BLACKBURN manager Sam Allardyce has welcomed news of the club’s takeover, but accepts he will have to spend wisely.

The poultry giant, owned by the Rao family, has bought the 99.9% shareholding of the Jack Walker Trust, which has run the club since the death of their former benefactor a decade ago.

Venky’s spoke only of modest targets after the club announced they were in discussions last month and, although investment will be made, Allardyce expects constraints.
