Snodgrass: Leeds won’t be fazed by United test

LEEDS striker Robert Snodgrass says he and his team-mates will not be overawed when they face fierce rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup at Old Trafford tomorrow.

Snodgrass: Leeds won’t be fazed by United test

Top of League One and having lost only twice this season, Leeds gave Liverpool a scare in a September Carling Cup tie.

Snodgrass said: “We’ve got a lot in our team – firepower, a good defence and lots of leaders.

“Sunday will test the team and test our character but we are full of confidence and we give ourselves every chance.

“In the Carling Cup this season we beat Watford and gave Liverpool a good game before losing 1-0.

“And you don’t have to try to get yourself motivated for a trip to Old Trafford – everyone is raring to go.’’ More than 9,000 Leeds fans are expected to make the trip across the Pennines, with the police on high-alert for possible clashes between the two sets of supporters.

“The fans have been talking about playing Manchester United again since I arrived at Leeds,’’ added Snodgrass “We’ve got to put all that behind us and approach the game with a positive way of thinking – that they are just another team. We approach every game exactly the same and will take it from there.

“We won’t let the hype faze us. We are happy for people to talk beforehand but it is up to us to do the talking on the pitch.’’
