EVEN in this anodyne age, some football victories remain sweeter than others to those involved.

A modern day player barely dares to admit to a grudge against a side or a deep longing to beat another team for a fear of the media coverage and crowd barracking that will entail.

But there can be no way Richard Dunne left Old Trafford on Saturday evening without an extra feeling of satisfaction and an added thrill that Aston Villa had ended a 26-year wait for a victory at this arena.
