CARLOS TEVEZ believes the vitriolic reception he received from Manchester United supporters at Old Trafford last week justified his decision to leave the club for rivals Manchester City.

The Argentine was subjected to fierce abuse from his former fans, who are still furious at his decision to reject extending his stay ay United and instead move to City in a £25 million (€27 million) deal.

Now his City team-mate Pablo Zabaleta has claimed Tevez told him the spiteful response from the supporters justifies his decision.
