Advantage Bohs as Murphy stands firm

BOHEMIANS earned a hard-fought Champions League away draw in Austria last night as Red Bull Salzburg were left to rue spurned opportunities last night.

Advantage Bohs as Murphy stands firm

With the score at 1-0 after an hour, Cameroon midfielder Joseph N’Do tapped home a crucial equaliser that leaves the League of Ireland champions in a strong position ahead of the return leg in Dalymount Park next week.

And that away goal came a mere two minutes after the Austrian champions saw a penalty saved by the imperious Brian Murphy, with Mark Janko missing from the spot.

Salzburg took the lead in the 25th minute when a corner found Milan Dudic unmarked and the defender headed home.

Giovanni Trapattoni’s former club then went in search of a second but found Murphy in fine form in the Bohs goal.

After the interval Janko was twice denied, before being taken down by Ken Oman in the box but his penalty was saved.

Killian Brennan’s ball two minutes later drew the goalkeeper towards Byrne at the back post but he couldn’t block the header back across the goal and N’Do equalised from two yards out.
