Edgy Tevez hints at Old Trafford exit

CARLOS TEVEZ has dropped his clearest hint yet he will leave Manchester United when his two-year “loan” expires next month.

Tevez was a regular member of Alex Ferguson’s side last season. But the Argentinian’s first-team opportunities have been restricted by Dimitar Berbatov’s £30.75m (€34.25m) move from Tottenham. And now it appears Tevez is ready to quit Old Trafford.

“Even if you score three or four goals, you do not play in another game. There are many very good players but I need to play,” Tevez said.

Tevez’s future has been the subject of intense debate for a months. Ferguson has decided not to discuss the matter any further, claiming the 24-year-old’s future will be resolved in the summer.

United have first refusal on Tevez’s services but it is difficult to see the Glazer family sanctioning a reported £30m spend to make his deal permanent. And even if the Red Devils did come up with an offer, it appears Tevez would reject it. “I have many offers, not only from Spain,” Tevez claimed.

“We must not only consider money, I also have to ensure my family feel comfortable. I’ve a lot to think about.”
