Late van Persie strike rescues Gunners

ROBIN VAN PERSIE’S 93rd minute equaliser salvaged a scarcely deserved point for Arsenal at Goodison Park last night and underlined the need for Arsene Wenger to complete a piece of pressing transfer business when he returns to his desk today.

The Arsenal manager claims his team’s £15 million (€16m) bid for Zenit St Petersburg playmaker Andrei Arshavin is 90% complete and, following the lacklustre attacking display of his team at Goodison, Wenger can only hope he concludes the final 10% of negotiations quickly.
