Ronaldo doubtful for Spanish trip

CRISTIANO RONALDO is likely to miss Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Villarreal tomorrow after suffering a thigh injury at Aston Villa.

Ronaldo took a couple of heavy knocks to his leg during the game and is rated at no better than 50-50 by his manager Alex Ferguson.

“His leg’s in a mess, to be honest,” Ferguson said. “He’ll be doubtful for Tuesday, I’m sure of that.”

Ronaldo joins Wes Brown, Paul Scholes, Dimitar Berbatov and Owen Hargreaves on the injury list, while Darren Fletcher will hope to shake off a knee injury he sustained against Stoke.
