REPUBLIC of Ireland winger Stephen Hunt is out of Thursday’s game against Colombia after he aggravated an old hamstring injury but Celtic winger Aiden McGeady will play a part.

Hunt ruled out for Ireland

The Reading player sat out both of yesterday’s training sessions at Gannon Park, Malahide, and was released from the squad last night after the Irish medical team decided he had no chance of being fit for the visit to Craven Cottage.

Richard Dunne is Ireland’s other injury worry with a bruised foot but manager Giovanni Trapattoni reckons he has a 90% chance of playing.
