Albion prepare promotion party

PAUL ROBINSON hailed West Bromwich Albion’s fighting qualities as they go in search of the victory which will secure promotion to the Premier League.

The Baggies take on Southampton at the Hawthorns tonight knowing a draw would be enough to give them automatic promotion, as it would leave them three points above third-placed Hull with a game to go and a vastly superior goal difference.

A win over the struggling Saints would make mathematically sure and Robinson, who has been playing with a badly bruised ankle for the last fortnight and has required stitches to head wounds in two of Albion’s last three games, believes the team’s character in the wake of their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Portsmouth makes them worthy promotion contenders.
