Spurs settle for hard-earned point

ROBBIE KEANE wasted a golden opportunity to extend his impressive goalscoring burst at Goodison Park last night, but the Republic of Ireland striker will not have been too downhearted as he helped Tottenham to a heard-earned point against a team which increasingly looks as though it could be competing in the Champions League next season.

Spurs settle for hard-earned point

Tottenham were inspired by the presence of Jonathan Woodgate, their new £7.5 million (€10m) signing, at the heart of the defence and it was no coincidence that the former Real Madrid player’s first appearance for his new club should result in a clean sheet.

In a disappointing encounter, Everton carved out the better chances yet could easily have lost as Keane was presented with a fine chance to score his 19th goal of the season and win the game for the Carling Cup finalists.
