CHELSEA and Arsenal have both been hit with a £100,000 (€147,000) fine for the melee which marred the end of the Carling Cup final at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

They were also reprimanded by the FA after players from both sides were involved in a mass confrontation — sparked by Arsenal captain Kolo Toure’s challenge on Mikel Jon Obi.

The fracas also saw both managers enter the playing arena as Jose Mourinho and Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger attempted to calm the situation.
