Arsenal legend puts Cadillac on transfer market
Legendary Arsenal attacker Dennis Bergkamp was the first owner of this 2004 Cadillac Escalade. And he spent vast sums modifying it.
Now you can pick up Bergkamp’s old SUV, which has covered 30,000 miles for £28,000 (€41,000).
Featuring a massive 6-litre V8, the Escalade produces 345bhp and 380 lb/ft of pulling power.
Based on a similar platform to David Beckham’s GMC Yukon Denali, the Escalade accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 130mph.
Bergkamp — nicknamed the Iceman — spent more than £16,500 (€24,000) customising the 2.6-ton SUV, kitting it out with five 9” LCDs, an Alpine entertainment system and a reversing camera.
He also had the inside rechromed and fitted 23-inch wheels and quad exhaust pipes.
Regarded as one of the Premiership’s best ever players, the Dutchman played more than 400 games for Arsenal after his €11 million move from Inter Milan in 1995.
He retired from football last summer ending an esteemed career where he also scored 37 goals for Holland — including the goal of the tournament at the 1998 World Cup.
Famous for his fear of flying, Bergkamp would often drive long distances to away games, making comfort a high priority.
