PORTSMOUTH have admitted they would be interested in enticing Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips to Fratton Park in next month’s transfer window.

The adopted son of ex- Arsenal striker Ian Wright cost Chelsea £21 million from Manchester City last season but has started only 19 games for the Premiership champions — and just 13 in the league.

Speculation over a move arose despite him recently asking: “Why would I want to leave Chelsea?”

Meanwhile, Everton have signed Anderson de Silva on a short-term deal after the Brazilian midfielder resolved a passport issue. The club agreed with Uruguay’s National Montevideo to acquire the player’s “federative and economic rights.”
