Pilgrims put faith in Holloway for long-term success

PLYMOUTH are expecting new boss Ian Holloway to prove a long-term success at Home Park.

The former Bristol Rovers and QPR manager was confirmed as the Pilgrims’ new manager yesterday.

The 43-year-old replaces Tony Pulis, who left Plymouth to return to Coca-Cola Championship rivals Stoke two weeks ago.

Holloway has signed a three-year contract and Plymouth chairman Paul Stapleton said: “Ian Holloway was the man we wanted and I am delighted that he has come here to Plymouth.”

Holloway was put on leave by QPR in February. Yesterday they named Gary Waddock as his successor.
