Ronaldo leads way as Brazil cruise to victory
It took 43 minutes for Brazil to open the scoring, with Ronaldo netting just before the break. Strike partner Adriano doubled the lead after 51 minutes but it was not until late on that they confirmed their superiority.
AC Milan playmaker Kaka added the third after 86 minutes, with Lyon midfielder Juninho — a 65th-minute replacement for Roberto Carlos — completing the scoring in stoppage time.
Brazil open the defence of their World Cup crown against Croatia on June 13 in Berlin.
Meanwhile, former Brazil coach Wanderley Luxemburgo believes his country will struggle to produce world-class players in the future.
The five-time world champions are favourites to clinch the trophy in Germany and boast the likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka and Adriano in their ranks.
But the Santos boss feels that beyond this present generation there is a dearth of talent in the country.
“There will be no more fine individual talents in the future,” said the former Real Madrid coach.
“We don’t have these players here in Brazil nowadays. If we look back two years ago, here at Santos we had Robinho and Diego and there were other players in other teams who could make the difference.
“Now, all of them are in Europe and players go there younger year by year. We’re losing players who are just 13 or 14 and I’m sure we’ll see some of them playing the 2014 World Cup for other national teams,” he added.
“Despite this, I think the Brazilian national team will always be favourites.”
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba scored twice in quick succession to seal an impressive 3-0 World Cup warm-up win over Slovenia.
The Chelsea man broke the deadlock after 35 minutes to give the World Cup qualifiers the lead and added his second two minutes later.
Kanga Akale completed the scoring with a strike after 70 minutes to give the Elephants a morale-boasting win.
