Hiddink confirmed as Russia head coach
At a press conference in Moscow, the outgoing PSV Eindhoven boss put pen to paper on a €4 million deal, which is scheduled to start on July 9 - immediately after the World Cup at which Hiddink will coach Australia.
The capture of Hiddink is a much-needed boost for Russia, who failed to qualify for this year’s World Cup under the leadership of erstwhile coach Yuri Semin.
But the former Holland and South Korea coach explained that the rebuilding process would involve the co-operation and co-ordination of several parties.
“I’m powerless to make anything without the help of Russian coaches, players and officials,” he said.
