Blues bid to quash Kezman ban

CHELSEA assistant boss Steve Clarke believes the club have a strong case with their appeal against a three-match ban on £5.3 million new signing Mateja Kezman.

Blues bid to quash Kezman ban

The Blues are claiming wrongful dismissal after Kezman was sent off for violent conduct in a pre-season friendly against AS Roma on July 29.

The summer arrival from PSV Eindhoven was dismissed for an altercation with Olivier Dacourt following a needless hack by the former Leeds midfielder on Arjen Robben during the ChampionsWorld series match in Pittsburgh.

“I don’t think it is finished yet,” said Clarke. “We’re still going to appeal.... I think we’ve got a very strong case.”

The matter will be dealt with by a disciplinary commission on Monday.
