Wenger: I will sign Arsenal contract

ARSENE WENGER has once again moved to reassure Arsenal fans that he is staying at the club and has promised he will sign his new contract before the year is out.

The Gunners boss has been linked with the vacant post at Spanish giants Real Madrid but Wenger said yesterday that he wanted to stay at Arsenal and make the club greater and that means he will commit himself to the club until at least 2008.

“I have no desire to leave,” said Wenger. “If tomorrow I was on the streets and had no job I would not turn down Real Madrid, but I am happy where I am. My target is to develop this club and the team and I feel I have a big job to do here.
