Dynamic Doyle named Player of the Month

CORK CITY striker Kevin Doyle has been named eircom/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month for November.

The Republic of Ireland U21 striker was in sensational form towards the end of the season.

Doyle bagged eight goals in the final 12 games of the season, including two in four matches during November as Cork City pushed Shelbourne all the way in the title race. Doyle scored a last-minute equaliser against Derry City at Turners Cross at the beginning of the month, while he also scored in a 3-1 win against Drogheda United despite playing the entire month with the aid of painkilling injections in his foot.

It capped a marvellous season for the 21-year-old striker, who ended the season with 13 goals despite playing most of the season as a right-winger.
