Collingwood showdown for arch rivals

UCC will meet old rivals UCD in this afternoon’s Collingwood Cup final at University of Limerick (2pm) after going through on penalties in yesterday’s semi-final.

Collingwood showdown for arch rivals

UCC, chasing their fourth Collingwood Cup in a row had to dig deep to overcome a gallant Trinity College side as they advanced 4-2 on penalties.

UCC now meet UCD in the final after they defeated DIT 2-0 in the other semi-final. UCD start as favourites if only because UCC have played four games in four days this week plus extra time yesterday. There were only three teams in UCD’s group, so they have the benefit of playing a match less.
