Smith slips smoothly into life at United

ALAN SMITH has admitted his controversial move from Leeds to Manchester United could not have gone much better.

The striker netted his seventh goal for the Old Trafford club in the Carling Cup win over Crewe on Tuesday, taking him two clear of Ruud van Nistelrooy in the Old Trafford scoring charts.

In addition, the 24-year-old has already won over the United faithful with his wholehearted approach, as well as regaining his place in the England squad.
