Spurs relief as Ajax go for Blind

AJAX captain John Heitinga believes the club’s board of directors have made a good choice in appointing Danny Blind as their new coach.

Blind had an illustrious playing career with Ajax, captaining them in their Champions League victory in 1995.

Tottenham’s Martin Jol had been touted as the favourite to fill the vacancy at the Amsterdam Arena but the club decided to appoint from within and Heitinga is delighted.
