Marseille target Pool star Cisse

OLYMPIQUE Marseille have set their sights on a January move for Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.

Club president Pape Diouf believes the French international would be “the ideal transfer” for his flagging side.

Marseille sit 11th in Ligue 1 after recording just one win in their last four matches, and are looking to boost their attack.

Diouf confirmed the club had approached AC Milan for Filippo Inzaghi, but with Milan refusing to let him go, they confirmed their interest in Cisse.

The club have already been linked with the former Auxerre forward this season.

Cisse has scored 11 goals this season and Diouf said: “Cisse would perfectly suit Marseille and he even said it himself that Marseille would also suit him.”
