Time to pay up for Arnesen, says Levy

TOTTENHAM will not formally complain about Chelsea’s approach for Frank Arnesen if they receive “fair and significant compensation”, according to chairman Daniel Levy.

Arnesen is expected to join Chelsea after the Premiership champions approached their London neighbours and the Dane himself.

Talks have continued between the two parties, with Spurs yet to report Chelsea for an illegal approach - an accusation the Blues would reject.

Arnesen, who has two years left on his contract, was suspended by Spurs officials after making it clear he wished to leave White Hart Lane.

Chelsea’s letter to ask for permission to approach the Dane was copied to Arnesen himself, which Tottenham believe is an illegal approach.

Although they missed out on a UEFA Cup place, Arnesen was considered to have improved Spurs with a number of signings and a change of structure.

It’s understood Spurs would want £5million for Arnesen to leave for Stamford Bridge to become head of scouting and the youth academy.
