Forlan in shop window at Copa

DIEGO FORLAN is hoping to use the Copa America to attract a buyer ahead of a likely move away from Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan has failed to break into the Manchester United line-up since Alex Ferguson launched a £7m swoop for the striker from Argentine outfit Independiente.

Forlan did not even warrant a place on the substitutes’ bench at the Millennium Stadium last Saturday as United defeated Millwall in the FA Cup final and his chances of forcing his way into the side on a regular basis suffered another massive setback on Wednesday when England front-man Alan Smith signed from Leeds on a five-year contract.

Real Zaragoza and Malaga have both been linked with Forlan and fellow La Liga outfit Villarreal are also rumoured to be interested in the striker after talks to sign Henrik Larsson fell through.
