Turkish international Alpay parts with Villa

ASTON VILLA have terminated the contract of Turkish international Alpay by mutual consent.

The Barclaycard Premiership club have cut their losses on the central defender who caused a storm of controversy for his conduct in his country's Euro 2004 qualifier against England in Istanbul on October 11.

The 30-year-old goaded David Beckham after the England captain missed a penalty and was then involved in another confrontation with the Real Madrid star in the players' tunnel at half-time.
