Arnesen urges Keane to keep his cool at Spurs

THE Tottenham future of Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane is still in the balance after sporting director Frank Arnesen warned Spurs would not tolerate footballers behaving badly in public.

Arnesen, who is responsible for fashioning Spurs’ squad, said: “It’s very important everybody involved in football sets an example to the watching public. We all have to be disciplined.”

The former Denmark striker added: “We can have our emotions. They will always be there, but we have to control them and know where we can show those emotions.

“Nobody is bigger than the club.”

Keane is furious he is playing second fiddle to Fredi Kanoute and Jermain Defoe at White Hart Lane. He was back on the bench again and played the last 10 minutes of the 1-0 win over Newcastle but his future at Spurs looks set to be decided this summer.
