Lazio may install Le Guen as boss

PAUL LE GUEN has emerged as a surprise contender to take over from Giuseppe Papadopulo as the new coach of Serie A side Lazio.

Le Guen is available after quitting Lyon the day after leading them to a fourth consecutive French league title.

The 41-year-old is said to be keen to work abroad and has already had talks with Portuguese champions Benfica and Turkish champions Fenerbahce. Le Guen is reported to be looking for a salary of around €1m a season but Lazio are only willing to pay around half that amount.

Former Lecce and Atalanta coach Delio Rossi remains the favourite to take over from Papadopulo.
