ARSENE WENGER insisted there is no bitterness between himself and Alex Ferguson despite their ongoing war of words as he described their managerial rivalry as “unique.”

Wenger and Ferguson have clashed again in the build-up to tomorrow’s match at Old Trafford, with the Manchester United boss claiming Arsenal “got away with murder” after last season’s melee.

Wenger duly responded by urging Ferguson to calm down ahead of the match and to stop inflaming the situation further. Both managers were nevertheless doing their best to avoid any criticism of each other in the final 48 hours before kick-off.
